Strategic Assessment

Using web-based tools and modern techniques, our clients gain great insight into the alignment of the organization's executives and key leadership regarding the corporate mission, values, and initiatives and how well these are implemented and understood throughout the company.

Evaluate the alignment of Corporate Mission, Values, Strategy, and Objectives throughout an organization.

  • Identify High Impact, Low Performing areas.
  • Develop action plans to implement necessary changes.
  • No personal interviews are required, except with the sponsoring executive, and each participant has a personal, secure login to a web site where they provide their confidential responses to the questions. One or two of our consultants will guide participants and the sponsoring executive through this quick, low cost, process to gaining this valuable insight.

Strategy and Business Planning

We work with established companies to evaluate their current strategy and their specific plans to accomplish the targeted results. This strategy review may also be requested when a company is considering changes of direction or advancing into new markets. We also work with small companies and early stage startup firms to help them establish a strategy and business plan. We can provide objective feedback and assistance in the development of these scenarios.

In addition, we provide assistance in areas such as marketing and distribution plan development, budget development, staff planning, and organization design.

As companies grow larger, communication becomes more and more difficult, or so it seems. Oftentimes, processes that worked when a company was small are ineffective when the company grows large, but those processes have not been updated. Also, organizational structures that developed as the company grew may not have been created with an intentional focus on effectiveness and efficiency.

Organization design and review projects can be scoped as broad or narrow as the client desires. We will work with you to establish appropriate scope boundaries to obtain the benefits available while keeping costs to a minimum.

How does your company approve, prioritize, and manage multiple projects today? Are the executives sure that all of the projects currently underway within the company are providing value and supporting the company's strategy and key objectives?

Many companies don't like their answers to these questions. For example, some projects that were supposed to provide value are now late, over budget, or have otherwise changed such that the project no longer offers the benefits desired. But in a large company, and sometimes even small ones, these projects continue to use valuable company resources because there is not an effective management and oversight process in place.

Establishing and maintaining an effective Program Management Office (PMO) requires more than just assigning someone the title of PMO Director. It requires processes, tools, people, and a commitment by senior management that projects will be managed using the new PMO methods. Using tools available today, the PMO doesn't need to be a large team spending a lot of time printing and distributing reports. The tools can leverage the efforts of project participants, provide real-time status information, act as a centralized project document repository, and greatly facilitate communication and decision-making regarding the portfolio of projects currently proposed and underway.

If you have a project that requires executive-level experience, specific area expertise, or just additional quality resources, we may be able to help. We have associates with very strong backgrounds in project management, including PMP certification, who can be your project manager. We also have associates with specific technical, financial, or operational expertise who can supplement your existing staff and project team for the duration of the project.

Here is the type of support we can provide:

  • Executive level management of critical projects and review/oversight of projects managed by internal staff. Subcontract planning and management.
  • Develop project plans and scope of work documents.
  • Project managers, business analysts, and technical experts provide depth and breadth.
  • Some of our “business” projects include assessment of business strategy, organization redesign, workflow analysis, financial analysis and audit, vendor evaluation and selection, development of RFP’s and SOW’s, CALEA, FCC and foreign telecom licensing, and establishing customer care and distributor/reseller support teams.
  • Representative “technical” projects include implementation of IT and business support systems such as LAN/WAN, telecom/IVR/VRU, SFA, CRM, Document Imaging, Disaster Recovery planning, data warehouse, application development, and web site development.

    We can provide experienced executives to ‘fill in’ a key role for your company while you search for a permanent solution. Our associates have previously filled the following roles on an interim basis:

    • President – technology startup company.
    • VP of Operations – web interactive conferencing company.
    • VP of Finance – publishing industry.
    • Program Manager – international telecommunications company.

    Some of our associates are able to provide this support on a 75-100% travel basis depending on the situation and location, so our support is not necessarily limited to our primary locations in Colorado and Arizona.

    We can also provide director, manager, and staff level interim full time support in some areas, primarily finance/accounting and information technology at this time.
